The Dovecote is well known in Bristol and across Avon as a fine country pub. A popular pub restaurant famous for great food, we are as stone's throw from the Clifton Suspension Bridge. There is always a warm welcome with roaring log fires (in winter!) and, freshly prepared food
The Dovecote began life as an ordinary farm cottage and parts of it date back to the 1650's. Once called the Coach and Horses, the inn was renamed the Smyth Arms in 1749 after the Smyth family who were the lords of the manor and principal landowners in the area.
